Overview

With the introduction of thermal cameras fitted to drones, the inspection industry for those assets that require thermal data has become easier to obtain.

Here at Hammer Missions, we have created the perfect workflow for your thermal data enabling you to collate and process your data through the Hammer Hub

In this tutorial, we will look at how you can achieve this.

Please note that Hammer Missions only supports processing of thermal images in the 'Iron-bow' palette at the moment.

Processing Thermal Data with Hammer Missions

This tutorial assumes that you have already been to the field and collected your data.

1: Create a new project within Data Analysis on the Hammer Hub, shown below in red.

2: With your new project created enter the project details and press continue.

3: Select your thermal images and drag them into the designated upload area or manually select the images for upload.

4: Now the images have been uploaded scroll to the bottom of the page and select Continue.

5: Select Create Project

6: Once the project has been created you will be presented with the project overview.

NB: Clicking on each one of the yellow dots (which are representative of where the drone took a photo) will bring up the corresponding picture.

7: To collate this data and create an overall view, or an ortho of the site, select process (highlighted below in red)

8: Select the 2D Map or 3D Model option.

9: Your thermal data will now be processed into a 2D Map or 3D Model, once it has finished you will have a full view of the data collated into one picture or 3D model.

The example below is a 3D Model of Thermal Data.

NB: This can also be made full-screen by selecting the icon in the bottom right of the 3D window.
